⚠ CLASSIFIED INFORMATION — KNOX EVENT RESPONSE DIVISION ⚠

Several miles from the coast lies a large, forested island that was abandoned long before the Knox infection began. Decades ago, McCoy Lumber attempted to operate there, cutting rough tracks through the woods and building a handful of small cabins for seasonal crews. The project failed and the island was left behind; over time, the forest reclaimed most of the structures.

During the early stages of the Knox outbreak, the island was briefly used as an emergency quarantine location. Civilians suspected of exposure were transported there while authorities attempted to slow the spread on the mainland. The situation deteriorated quickly. Once the first infected turned, the isolated camps collapsed, control of the island was lost, and attempts to retake it were abandoned. The entire shoreline was placed under quarantine and the island remained untouched for years.

Eventually, the location appeared again in containment planning. Clearing the island would provide a secure forward base off the mainland coast and a potential site for controlled research into the Knox infection. By this time, the military was no longer in the condition it had been when the outbreak first began; resources were limited, personnel were stretched thin, and large-scale operations were difficult to sustain.

The Operation

Deadshore Protocol is a containment recovery program designed to reclaim the island without committing valuable military forces to a prolonged ground operation. Instead, the task is assigned to individuals with strong incentives to take the risk themselves.

■ PARTICIPANTS Prisoners offered a full pardon and Volunteers seeking a permanent stake in a new, secure world.
■ DEPLOYMENT Transport helicopters deliver participants to the island with NO EQUIPMENT OR SUPPLIES. Once deployed, they are expected to survive using whatever can be found on the island.
■ OBJECTIVE Survive and clear the island of the infected presence.

The Founding Agreement

Participants are granted the unique opportunity to lead the reconstruction of civilization:
